Taking Winter Morning Pictures With A Canon EF24-105mm f4L IS USM

Canon EF24-105mm f4L : A few winter morning pictures taken using a Canon EF24-105mm f4L IS USM. The lens was mounted to a Canon EOS 1D Mark III with the pictures being taken in Beverley and Hull. It was bitterly cold this morning with plenty of frost everywhere. When I woke up I found my car totally covered in ice so took a few pictures to share on Beverley Photographer. Peli Case 1510 : Worth Every Penny And Some

A Peli Case 1510 proved to be the perfect answer to the problem I have been facing of carting my kit around between jobs. After a little bit of research and some help from a fellow photographer I settled on a Peli Case 1510 to use as my main bag for my big lens and a couple of bodies. Canon EF300mm F2.8L USM With Canon EF 2x II Extender

Shooting sports I now use a Canon EF300mm F2.8L USM mounted to a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and sometimes use a Canon EF 2x II Extender. I have read many reports on the Internet about how they work but my experiences of using one are not very good to say the least. In a few hour’s time, a Canon 24-70mm f2.8L Lens will finally arrive at my door and take over from the Canon EF24-105mm f4L I have been using. Sports Photography With A Telephoto Lens

Sports Photography is something I do a lot of and one of the problems I found was trying to get a telephoto lens with a enough reach without needing to re-mortgaging my house. The system I use is Canon and in my time I have used the Canon EOS 40D, Canon EOS 7D, Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EOS 1D Mark II and the Canon EOS 1D Mark III. In terms of lens choice, I started with the Canon EF Zoom Lens 75-300mm, and over time have changed to using a Canon 70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM and more recently a Sigma 150-500mm f5.6-6.3 DG HSM OS. LENSBABY : Creative Shooting With The Lensbaby 2

Creative photography is certainly a lot easier with a Lensbaby attached to the camera as I found out after taking delivery of a Lensbaby 2. Although it is a lens, I think the Lensbaby is more of an accessories, something that is small and easy to carry around that will give any photographer a different type of shot. Hahnel HRC 280 : Testing Out A Remote Trigger Switch

Having purchased a Hahnel HRC 280 Remote Shutter Release after losing my previous one, a Canon Remote Switch 80N3 so was unable to shoot long exposure pictures at night. Costing just less then £20 the Hahnel HRC 280 Remote Shutter Release is a fraction of the Canon’s own version and does exactly the same job. Flash Photography : Shooting A Music Night With Off Camera Flash

Flash off the camera, finally I took my flash off, I have owned the Speedliter’s Handbook by Syl Arena for a while but I finally put some of his ideas into practice. I was shooting a music night one of the local pubs in Beverley. The room was quite light but where the performers were was not so bright at all.
