Today I took delivery of a Speedlite Ezy Up Umbrella Softbox, which I purchase on eBay – view product – for just under £60. Last week I shared my experiences with using a Canon EF 2x II Extender with a Canon EF300mm F2.8L USM and the issues I faced. Flash off the camera, finally I took my flash off, I have owned the Speedliter’s Handbook by Syl Arena for a while but I finally put some of his ideas into practice. Canon EOS 1D Mark III – Worth Every Penny

I have been using a Canon EOS 1D Mark III for about a month now and have s far enjoyed using the camera so much and despite it being an older model from the Canon EOS range it certainly still holds it own. This was an upgrade from a Canon EOS 1D Mark II which for nearly two years was my work horse when covering sporting fixtures like football and rugby either with Sigma 150-500mm or Canon 70-200 attached to the body. Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM The Lens To Buy

If there is one lens any one with Canon EOS camera should buy it is a one of their 50mm prime lens and the one I use is the Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM Lens. Very small and lightweight the Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM Lens offers great versatility and is something I tend to use when just going for a walk. Canon EF 400mm F2.8L USM was the lens used for this sports photography shoot featuring Beverley Town Football Club and Sculcoates Amateurs. The Canon EF 400mm F2.8L USM was mounted to Canon EOS 1D Mark IV with exposure being set manually. For some time, I have been using the Canon EF 400mm f2.8L USM lens, mainly for cricket but more recently to shoot amateur and professional sport. Canon EF 2x II Extender : Sports Photography, Shooting Cricket

This weekend I have a lot more success shooting cricket with a Canon EF 2x II Extender attached to Canon EF400mm F2.8L USM lens. For a while now I have been really struggling to get any sort of half-decent image with a Canon EF 2x II Extender, especially when trying to use manual exposure. Last weekend, I found a sort of fix where I used P Mode to calculate the required exposure and then just changed the aperture. Sigma 30mm f1.4 EX DC HSM lens when mounted on my Canon camera has become one of the most used lens in my bag and something I always take to every job photography I go out on. The Sigma 30mm f1.4 EX DC HSM is my go to lens when I am shooting in number of different situations which require the camera to work fast when there is little ambient light and need to get the pictures without thumping up the ISO on my camera.
