Arguably, the hardest type of sports photography I have done has to be swimming. As a sports photographer, I have been fortunate enough to shoot two swimming galas. Like all sports photography, the idea is to show the action and a where possible freeze the competing athlete in the shot at just the right moment. Canon EF 2x II Extender: More Practice Leads To Better Results

Last week I shared my experiences with using a Canon EF 2x II Extender with a Canon EF300mm F2.8L USM and the issues I faced. Shooting sports I now use a Canon EF300mm F2.8L USM mounted to a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and sometimes use a Canon EF 2x II Extender. Getting out and doing a spot of night photography can often be very rewarding and is something I do enjoy given half the chance to do it. This collection of photos were taken in Beverley in Hengate Gardens. There was a lot of ambient light about, a lamppost and the flood lights on the monument were quite useful. Canon EF 15mm F2.8 Fisheye Fisheye was the lens of choice over the weekend as I got to shoot in a an awarding winning venue, the Asylum Club in Hull. Flash off the camera, finally I took my flash off, I have owned the Speedliter’s Handbook by Syl Arena for a while but I finally put some of his ideas into practice.
